CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY OF TURKMENISTAN: Ashgabat Specialized Exhibition Features Medical Innovations

Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan issued the following announcement on July 23.

The Health-2018 International Exhibition has opened in the Turkmen capital. A thematic scientific conference and a meeting on the Regional Nutrition Partnership Platform for Central Asia and Caucasus are also being held as part of the exhibition. The medical forum, traditionally held in our country, is co-organized by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Among those in attendance at the opening ceremony were representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan, medical research centers, the Academy of Sciences, some ministries and agencies, public organizations, education institutions, and the media.

Timed to coincide with Medical Workers’ Day, the Exhibition has become an essential part of the process of improving the national health system, and offers specialists the opportunity to become aware of advanced methods and services in the medical industry.

Professionals, who specialize in different branches of medicine, are taking part in this year’s International Exhibition. Among the exponents are 240 foreign companies, producing pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and consumables, and delivering a wide spectrum of medical services, including companies from Germany, the USA, Turkey, India, EU countries, and others.

The exposition traditionally opens with a stand of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan that features copies of international certificates our country has been awarded in recognition of the successful eradication of several infectious diseases. The Turkmen doctors’ experience in this field has been recommended for the adoption in countries of the WHO European Region.

An official launch presentation of the tenth volume of the President-authored Encyclopedia of Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan was held during the exhibition.

Speakers at the event have highlighted that the creation of the many-volume encyclopedia on plants native to our country is an important step towards advancing both national pharmaceutical science and global herbal medicine.

The Red Crescent National Society of Turkmenistan, a non-profit organization and a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies that renders assistance to government bodies in humanitarian activities, also has display stands at the exhibition.

A health resort and spa treatment centers stand depicts health resorts in Bairamali, Berzengi, Mollakara, Archman, Yylysuv, Farab, and Dashoguz. The facilities and a range of services offered by each of them can today rival those of world’s best health resorts. The diverse natural landscape, mineral springs, and medicinal plants indigenous to Turkmenistan create essential prerequisites for developing the health resort industry and ecotourism.

The exhibition showcases state-of-the-art diagnostic and laboratory equipment, newly-designed products, efficient consumables, herbal pharmaceuticals, furniture, hospital intercom systems, hygiene, healthcare and cosmetic products. On display are also products and services in the field of innovative technologies.

Among the exhibitors are long-time partners of Turkmen health professionals, such as Hospitalia International GmbH, Bionorica CE, Siemens AG (Germany), World Medicine Limited (Great Britain), Ajanta Pharma (India), Gedeon Richter (Hungary), Askin and Co. (Austria), and many others.

The International Scientific Conference focused on innovation proposals in the field of medical equipment and technologies, pharmaceutics, and advanced methods of treatment of various diseases. Its plenary session was held in a conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
