Armenia's Rural Capacity Building board meets with Abrahamyan

Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan
The governing board of the Rural Capacity Building Program met Monday with Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.

During the meeting, planned activities relating to the program for the remainder of 2015 were discussed and approved. These activities included funding and maintenance costs associated with moving forward.

The board also approved a list of communities that were deemed eligible for International Fund for Agricultural Development supported projects. These projects largely involve water supply and irrigation enhancements for rural infrastructure.

The meeting concluded with approval of proposed changes to the board of director's bylaws with regard to the "Marketing Opportunities for Farmers" and "Rural Capacity Building" programs.

In March, Abrahamyan met with Eurasian Development Bank officials to discuss enhanced cooperation and potential infrastructure and investment support. During that meeting, a $150 million loan to provide financing for a road corridor project was finalized between the two parties.
