Sargsyan calls for for increased competitiveness

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan recently called for an increase in efforts by the nation's government to increase competitiveness.

The call for increased competitiveness comes after progress was reported earlier this month in the Global Competitiveness Report, ArmeniaNow.com reports.

The 2013-2014 report, which is published by the World Economic Forum, showed that Armenia has raised its standing by three spots and is now ranked 79th out of the 148 reviewed nations.

Despite the increase in standings, however, Sargsyan stressed that the government must understand what criteria increased and what weakened if it is to continue to improve on the annual list.

"There are numerous criteria [in the report] where we have something to do," Sargsyan told his cabinet, according to ArmeniaNow.com.
