Students from Tbilisi State University (TSU) held mock court proceedings for high school students with support from BasisBank, the bank said Friday.
The Center for Crime Prevention and Justice Training Center partnered on the project in order to facilitate workshops to allow students to learn about the legal process and allow them to take part in a simulation that included playing roles of the lawyers, the accused, the judge and jury.
The top three performing students in the simulation were awarded with tablets from the bank.
BasisBank has made it a point to support education in Tbilisi and in Georgia. They have supported scholarships for students at the university level. At the end of 2014 the bank reported financing four scholarships for students at Ilia State University that had successfully had research in their field of study published in peer reviewed journals. BasisBank pledged to support education projects in the Imereti region in February.
