Armenian prime minister holds economic discussion

Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan held a meeting with agency representatives on Tuesday, regarding economic development in the country.


There was an overview of the national and regional macroeconomic status. They also went over possible scenarios and what steps should be made to economic policies in order to bolster resilience in the case of trouble. 


During the meeting they also discussed how to enhance economic performance, regardless of outside forces or potential scenarios. Topics included expanding exports, new investments and how to go about attracting them and strengthening the national business environment and competitiveness. 


Earlier in March, the European Investment Bank (EIB) sent its vice president, Wilhelm Moltererin, to discuss cooperative efforts between the nation and the international bank. In this discussion was included Armenian ties to the UN and its importance to the Armenian government. The EIB representative stated that the bank is willing to continue its financial support.
