During the "Market of Printed Products Amidst Integrated Economy” -- an international conference of publishers, printers and publication distributors held in Minsk -- printing experts on Wednesday praised the printing and distribution practices of Belarus.
Information Minister of Belarus Lilia Ananich said the government always has paid special attention to its published products and their promotion. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a recent meeting with high-ranking cultural figures that books and other printed materials are incredibly important to the nation's moral and civic fabric.
Ananich also said changes to Belarus' laws on mass media will be implemented at the start 2015, one of which will mandate that all periodical distributors must be registered with the state, so that the government can promote the printed-materials market thoroughly. The minister said it is important for Belarus to integrate these practices with Kazakhstan and Russia to encourage trade and economic relations in the printing and distribution arenas.
