The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) appointed Vladyslav Rashkovan as acting deputy governor for the bank, the NBU said Wednesday.
He will continue to play an integral role in efforts to reform the country's banking system and stabilize it. He also will oversee central banks and the management of the Department of Fincance and Accounting.
NBU Governor Valeriia Gontareva commended his performance with the central bank.
"For the time of his work at the central bank, he has proved himself as a responsible and efficient manager who is capable of coping with challenges facing the banking system and the National Bank of Ukraine," Gontareva said. "His performance was highly appreciated by the banking community and international financial institutions.
"Rashkovan will be able to implement changes in areas that fall within his new scope of responsibility."
His background includes working as a lecturer at Odesa National Economic University, as well as leadership positions with several Ukrainian banks.
