AtaBank has appointed Etibar Babashli as its new chairman of the board of directors after a unanimous vote was cast among bank shareholders, it announced Wednesday.
Babashli previously served as the bank's acting chairman of the board. He earned a master's degree in business administration and management from the Azerbaijan State Economic University in 2002 and he has served on the faculty board in the Department of Political Science at Ankara University. He served as a customer service representative, the head of the Credit and Marketing Department and the director of the Internal Audit Department with Koc Bank Ltd. for five years, between 2000 and 2005.
Babashli's experience in the banking industry will aid AtaBank as it continues to perform as one of the largest, premier banks in Azerbaijan.
The bank has been operation since 1993, serving individual and corporate clients alike. It has also been on the forefront of cutting-edge banking technology and practices.
