LINPAC opens new package factory in Orsha

LINPAC Packaging East opened a new factory in Orsha, Belarus this week to produce packaging for food and other items.

At this time, it is the only factory in Belarus that is producing this product. The company is a unit of the LINPAC Group, based in Britain. The subsidiary originally registered in 2012, and British business representatives invested $10 million into the building of the plant.

“These resources are not bank loans, but investments on the net basis, used to develop the economy of the region,” Sergei Pats, first deputy chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee, said.

Once it's at full capacity, the factory aims to boost its work force to 100 from 80.

An opening ceremony for the factory and a symbolic launch of its heat-forming facility recently occurred, attended by representatives of the Orsha District Executive Committee; Vitebsk FEZ Administration, under which the factory is registered; and foreign investors.
