Belarus oil refinery upgrades to finish in 2016

The Belarus government announced that the upgrades to its oil refineries would be finished in 2016 in a joint session of Belarus' House of Representatives and Council of the Republic on Friday.

This comes after the urging of Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich for a reformed plan that would see the conclusion of updates in 2016 rather than 2017 or 2018.

The planned upgrades will allow the refineries to achieve a greater output, estimated at approximately 12 million tonnes, with the processing depth at 92-93 percent as opposed to the current 70-72 percent.

According to First Deputy Premier Vladimir Semashko, this increased output will generate $80-90 million in revenue.
