Belarusbank agreed on Friday to provide a loan to China Eximbank to invest in equipment to be used in the construction of the Svetlogorsk Pulp and Paper Mill in Gomel, Belarus.
Load documents were signed by Sun Ping, vice president of China Eximbank, and Sergei Pisarik, chair of the board of Belarusbank.
The loan will allow for the purchase of equipment for prehydrolisis cooking of viscose staple fiber pulp from a Chinese company.
Ping said that the loan will be granted quickly so the sulfate bleached and rayon pulp production plant can be constructed and become operational as quickly as possible.
“Our partner – Belarusbank – has a very good reputation and responsibility,” Sun Ping said. “With the development of economic and trade relations, more and more Chinese companies come to Belarus to implement investment projects. By giving them support Belarusbank contributes to the development of cooperation between our countries.”
