Representatives of regional chambers of commerce gathered in Manila on Feb. 15-20, 1965, for an Asian Conference of Chambers of Commerce that has had lasting effects to this day.

Ten national chambers participated in this initial conference, electing officers and holding the First Council Meeting. Since then, CACCI has hosted biennial conferences to assist business networking and economic growth.

CACCI is a non-government organization (NGO) and a grouping of national chambers of commerce, industry and business associations in Asia and the West Pacific. The conference serves as a forum for promoting the businessmen and economy of the Asia-Pacific

Today, CACCI comprises 28 Primary Members from 26 countries or independent economies and is a member of the Conference on NGOs. The 28th CACCI conference was held Sept. 17-19 in Kuala Lumpur.
