Samir Sharifov, Azerbaijan minister of finance, met with a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) headed by Secretary General Vookong Um in Baku on Thursday to discuss preparations for the 48th annual meeting of the bank's board of directors.

The meeting, which will be held from May 2-5 in Baku City, is expected to include more than 4,000 visitors, including ministers, high-ranking state and government officials, well-known scientists and experts, representatives of international financial institutes and civil society organizations, directors of central banks and businesspersons from member states,.

Sharifov said that an organizing committee has been established for the meeting and Azerbaijan will fulfill all its obligations as the host country.

ADB President Takehiko Nakao is expected to visit Baku in November for a series of meetings with the organizing committee to discuss issues related to preparations for the annual meeting.
