Belarus, West Bengal discuss possible economic partnerships

Economic cooperation was the topic of discussion during the Belarus Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India Vitaly Prima’s visit to Kolkata in the West Bengal region last week.

Prima spoke with Speaker of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Biman Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee and Governor of West Bengal Keshari Nath Tripathi. Cooperation within trade, investments and overall economic collaboration were the main discussion points. A proposal to increase Belarus exports was of great interest to both parties. They also discussed possible collaborations in the areas of manufacturing, education and cultural affairs.

During the visit, Prima took part in the Bengal Global Business Summit and spoke with leaders of many top Indian companies and researchers from the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute for Asian Studies.

Prima also was able to meet with business leaders from the Bharat Chamber of Commerce, where he talke about Belarus’ economic potential in manufacturing, as well as possible partnerships.
