GEORGIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY: Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry responds to the promotion of Georgia in the EuCham ranking

Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry issued the following announcement on Feb. 12.

Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomes Georgia's promotion in the rating published by the European Chamber of Commerce (EuCham). The Chamber believes that improving the country's position in the international rating will attract more attractiveness of Georgia's investment environment and will have a positive impact on the potential investors' mood. "We are glad that the European Chamber (EuCham) positively evaluated Georgia's efforts. It is noteworthy that our country is ranked by the leading European states. Positive results are important for our organization's activities, it will help us to work with potential investors and assist them in cooperating with local business circles, "said Nino Chikovani, President of Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The European Commission (EuCham) has published a 2019 rating, which states that Georgia's position is improved by 2 points, meaning that the country occupied the 16th place among 46 states (Georgia was 18th in 2018). In addition, Georgia has the best result among the countries of the region and the Baltic states, among the countries that have made their positions more productive. The rating of the EuCham is based on the World Bank's Doing Business Ranking and Transparency International Corruption Perception Index report.
