Belarus, Algeria chambers of commerce reach cooperative agreement

The Belarus Chamber of Commerce and Industry said April 28 that it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Business representatives from both countries had the opportunity to make connections with representatives of approximately 50 companies during the meeting in Algeria.

The memorandum stipulates that both chambers will launch measures to increase efforts in facilitating economic and trade activity between Belarus and Algeria. These measures include assistance and information to businesses, developmental and economic organizations and organizing business-focused visits and events. An Algerian delegation is set to visit Belarus in late 2015 or early 2016.

Business representatives from Belarus visited Georgia earlier in April and approximately $4 million in contracts were finalized at a forum in Tbilisi.

Representatives from 42 Belarus companies and over 200 representatives from Algerian companies attended the forum.
