Moldovan PM meets with Israel on bilateral relations, cooperation

Moldovan Prime Minister Iurie Leanca met with Israeli Tourism Minister Uzi Landau on Tuesday to address relations between the two nations, as well as economic and social cooperation.

"The Moldovan-Israeli ties have been always friendly, which represents an excellent prerequisite for getting mutually advantageous benefits", Leanca said, according to a press release.

Leanca and Landau spoke about the need to boost bilateral trade and the role of relevant intergovernmental commission.

Leanca also thanked Israel for its decision to cancel the visa regime for Moldovans, which begins on Aug. 1, and for the intergovernmental agreement allowing Moldovan citizens to legally work in Israel. Leanca added that the visa abolition will allow for a deepening of bilateral relations as well as airline flights between the two nations.

Landau said that relations between the two nations hold an enormous potential to be turned to good account.
