McDonald's to build 28 restaurants in Belarus' regional capitals

Fast food giant McDonald's plans to build 28 restaurants in Belarus within the next 10 years.

The restaurants are planed for Minsk and all of the capitals of the other regions, with the Minsk restaurants prioritized, according to McDonald's Managing Director Victoria Danko said during the opening ceremony of the company's first regional restaurant in Vitebsk last week, BelTA reports.

Minsk was targeted as a priority because existing Minsk outlets are facing a heavy workload, servicing more than 1.3 million customers per year, according to BelTA.

In addition to building in regional capitals, McDonald's is also considering constructing new locations in district capitals, including Orsha, Soligorsk and Mozyr.

McDonald's restaurants in Minsk have serviced approximately 180 million visitors over the last year, with the company investing more than $25.7 million in Belarus, BelTA reports.
