Abrahamyan heds to Gyumri Tech Center for briefings

Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan visited the Gyumri Technology Center in Shirak Marz on Wednesday.

The center, co-founded by the government, the Enterprise Incubator Foundation and the World Bank, houses engineering and multimedia laboratories as well as computer classrooms.

Abrahamyan was given briefings on the SMEs and start-ups clean technology program, which is administered by the U.N. Industrial Development Organization and is the only such project in Armenia in cooperation with Silicon Valley's largest Cleantech Open accelerator.

During Abrahamyan's visit, the program announced a tender of best business ideas in renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy generation and waste water management. The winner will be allowed to take part Cleantech Open's Silicon Valley business conference.

Before leaving Shirak Marz, the prime minister met with the governor of Shirak Marz and the heads of various agencies there.
