Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko received credentials from the Ambassador of Sudan to Belarus Omar Dahab Fadul Mohamed on Tuesday--the meeting ultimately resulted in an agreement to enhance trade and economic relations between the two countries.
Lukashenko said cooperation with African countries is one of Belarus' top foreign policy priorities, BelTA reports.
"Belarus expects to boost trade and economic interaction with Sudan," Lukashenko said, according to BelTA. "We hope to intensify bilateral contacts and take measures to develop all-round cooperation in the near future."
Belarus also promised to send a delegation to visit Sudan and other African countries--the details of the arrangement are still being discussed.
