Georgia's Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development recently met with representatives from the business, private sector and science communities to discuss the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA).
Mikheil Janelidze, the Georgian deputy minister of economy and sustainable development, held a presentation and discussed details of the agreement. The ministry launched a special website to provide information about the obligations of the agreement and conditions for preferential treatment.
Representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture also attended the meeting. They discussed issues regarding goods trade, customs regulations and procedures that will be required for exporters interested in the E.U. market.
The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development will continue to hold meetings in various regions. It will provide representatives of local government and business with further detailed information about reforms within the framework of the agreement.
The DCFTA seeks to provide for the close political association and economic integration of Georgia with the E.U.
