Belarus to cooperate with Sweden on real estate management

Sweden announced on Thursday that it will contribute $271,000 toward the implementation of a project in Belarus for the development of additional functions of real estate management.

The cooperation was announced at the international conference on the development of additional functions of the real estate management system on Thursday in Minsk, the Belarusian Telegraph Agency reports.

"Our cooperation with the Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority began in 1998," Miroslav Kobasa, the chairman of the board of Land Reform, said, according to the Belarusian Telegraph Agency. "Since that time a number of various projects have been implemented. Today we review another project on the support for the development of additional functions of the real estate management system in Belarus. It began in autumn 2010 and ends in May 2014. During this time the Swedish side allocated €195,000 as technical assistance."

The project seeks to improve the methods of real estate assessment, support the creation of a new geodetic network and improve urban territorial planning in Belarus, the Belarusian Telegraph Agency reports.
