Belarus vehicles to be delivered to Turkmenistan

Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Kalinin announced Friday that Belarus would be supplying 550 vehicles manufactured by Minsk Automobile Plant (MAP) to Turkmenistan.

According to Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, farmers and others in the agricultural industry prefer MAP tractors to other European brands. This sale is a part of a larger effort to bolster trade between Belarus and Turkmenistan beyond high points set in 2013.

Kalinin says special processes have been added to ensure quality.

“The climate here is special, the conditions are rather complicated, that is why we met our Turkmenistan partners halfway and introduced a number of amendments in the manufacture of equipment designed for this market," Kalinin said. "We have taken the wishes of agrarians regarding the composition of equipment, installation of conditioning systems, etc. into account.”

He also said service centers are in the process of being built in all regions of the country, and that the Ashgabat facility will open soon.
