FUIB appeals decision in lawsuit against TAKO PJSC

The First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB) has filed an appeal on Tuesday against a ruling by the Kyiv Economic Court of Appeal in FUIB's lawsuit against TAKO PJSC.

The lawsuit involves a dispute concerning the repayment of debt owed by TAKO in the amount of $17 million. Grain was taken as collateral from TAKO, and the court ruled in favor of the company.

FUIB said one of its security guards was killed and 15 combatants were injured when TAKO tried to retrieve the grain held by the bank.

“We consider the ruling by the Kyiv Economic Court of Appeal as unlawful," FUIB Deputy Chairman Konstantin Shkolyarenko said. "The grain is (collateral), whatever the future of the enforcement proceedings in the decision of the economic court of Kyiv is."
