Gazprom named top taxpayer in Belarus

Taxes paid by Gazprom Transgaz in Belarus amounted to 4.9 percent of total tax revenues reported in 2014, the Ministry of Taxes and Duties stated Thursday.


Nearly one fourth of the total tax budget is paid by the top-10 tax-paying entities in the country. In 2014, the total amount of budgeted tax revenue was approximately $11.4 billion over the course of the year.


The following companies were also among the top tax-paying entities in 2014: Minskenergo paid 0.8 percent of the tax budget; Minsk Crystal paid 0.9 percent; Minsk Grape Wines Factory and Tobacco-Invest paid one percent each of the tax budget; Grodno Tobacco Factory Neman paid 2.3 percent; Lukoil Belorussia paid 2.5 percent of the total taxes collected; Mozyr Oil Refinery and OAO Nattan each paid 3.5 percent; and, lastly, behind Gazprom was OAO Belaruskali, which accounted for as much as 3.8 percent of the tax budget paid over the course of 2014.
