The American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan recognized Kapital Bank with two awards, the bank announced on Friday.
The awards recognized bank efforts in business-community participation and social responsibility. Kapital's support to solve the drinking water problem in Goranboy, an area with many refugees, gained the bank the top prize in social responsibility. Their efforts and donations in helping children who have been diagnosed with thalassemia, a genetic blood disorder, received third place in that category.
Bank representatives said these projects hold a special moral value that is an important part of how and why they do business. A spokesman said projects like this fuel the spiritual inspiration to keep moving forward.
Kapital Bank has 89 branches throughout Azerbaijan with seven service centers.
