A delegation led by Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayebnia met with Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Governor Elman Rustamov on Friday.

The status of current and prospective cooperation between the two countries' banking systems and collaborative efforts of the Azerbaijan and Iranian central banks were discussed. 

Tayebnia said he was satisfied with the status of cooperation between the two banking sectors.

Both sides said that increased collaboration would greatly benefit both countries.

Rustamov said developmental progress on Azerbaijan projects has improved the country's economy and increased its stability.

During the meeting, the officials reaffirmed that continued economic ties between Iran and Azerbaijan would bring improvements for both countries and would continue into the future.

The Iranian delegation also met with the Azerbaijan Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev and Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov during their visit to Baku.
