According to an analysis that was conducted by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Prominvestbank on Tuesday announced it was named one of the eight banks that were deemed important to the country's banking sector.

On Dec. 25 the NBU determined significant banks by the amounts that they held in assets, what they owed to clients in deposits and what areas of business that they support in the form of loans. The NBU also looked at what each of the banks' owed to other financial institutions in the country and to international parties.

PSC Prominvestbank, PJSC Oschadbank, JSC Ukreximbank, JSC Delta Bank, PJSC Ukrsotsbank, JSC Raiffeisen Bank Aval and JSC Sberbank in Russia were deemed to be important banking sector institutions that held a significant role in stabilizing the economy and the financial system.

The designations of significant banks in the Ukrainian banking system will be updated yearly to reflect changes overall and with the banks individually.
