Magazine names Ardshinbank Armenia's 2014 Bank of the Year

Banker magazine has named Armenia's Ardshinbank the country's Bank of the Year for 2014, the bank said Friday.

The bank views the honor as a sign that what the bank is doing in terms of development is on the right track, Chairman of the Management Board of Ardshinbank CJSC Mher Grigoryan said after the award was announced.

The publication, based in London, releases its rankings of banks through an annual analysis and evaluation of financial institutions around the world. Banks in contention for recognition from the publication represent more than 150 countries.

Ardshinbank was recognized for its business practices, which have facilitated the bank's growth and improved customer service.

The bank was ranked third in assets in 2014, and it was registered with the Central Bank of Armenia in 2003.

For more than 15 years, Britain's Banker magazine has released an annual evaluation of the world's best financial institutions. Bank executives from more than 150 countries help decide the winners.
