Belarus seeks cooperation with Cyprus

Opening the Belarus-Cyprus business forum on Tuesday, deputy chairman of the Belarus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich said he wants to increase cooperation with Cypress.

“The forum has been organized on the initiative of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry that wants to present its potential to the Belarusian enterprises. We would like to step up the bilateral cooperation. The legal framework has already been developed, and now we should actively use it and work on its improvement,” Ulakhovich said.

He also hopes that this forum is one part of a chain of cooperation with other countries, citing previous forums and events in New York, Paris and Switzerland. Also, later this month the country will hold a forum in London, and the Austria-Belarus-Russia forum will take place in Vienna.

He noted that trade between the two was not as it once was, but there is hope that with work the two countries can increase collaborative measures.
