Belarus, Cuba agree to increased economic cooperation

Delegates from Belarus and Cuba convene to discuss economic cooperation and trade between the two countries.

The Belarus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) hosted delegates from Cuba on Monday to discuss economic cooperation.

BelCCI Deputy Chairman Vladimir Ulkanhovich and Antonio Carricarte Corona, Cuba's first deputy minister of foreign trade and investments, headed their respective teams of delegates. The Belarus delegation noted economic potential and chamber activities that assisted economic development. Corona said that Cuban legislation benefits foreign investors.

Both countries' chambers of commerce agreed to cooperate economically and said friendly relations between Belarus and Cuba would foster stable business contacts that are mutually beneficial.

A multinational Belarus-Latin America forum also was suggested.
