Vira Rychakivska retired as the deputy governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), according to an announcement from the bank on Thursday.

Throughout her 38-year career in the banking industry, 20 of those with the NBU, she helped to create economic and bank development that would bring Ukraine's banking closer to European Union standards in banking. She held the position of deputy governor since 2011.

Valerila Gontareva, governor of the NBU, thanked Rychakivska for her services to the bank, specifically citing her professionalism and contributions to the banking system's development.
