Three nation business forum tackles regional issues

Delegates representing businesses from Belarus took part in the Latvia–Lithuania–Belarus business forum in Minsk held Thursday through Saturday.

The forum was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Latvia with the assistance of The Establishment of the United Entrepreneurship Support and Networking System for the Sustainable Latvia and the Lithuania and Belarus Cross Border Cooperation. The forum focused on multiple items including investment and export potential and benefits of free economic zones.

Other topics that were covered included the confirmation of origin of the goods produced in the Republic of Belarus that have used materials from other countries. Also negotiations occurred regarding foreign investors being heavily favored by Belarus legislation.

Participants were able to discuss products produced by two Belarusian manufacturers, Kommunarka and Slodych.

The delegates from Belarus also held bilateral negotiations with 18 Lithuanian companies and more than 70 countries from Latvia.
