The Italian Association of Financial Innovation (AIFIn) awarded the Bank and Territory Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Communication and Sustainability Report to UniCredit on Wednesday.

The award recognizes UniCredit’s communication efforts about sustainable banking efforts.

AIFIn announced the awards in Milan during a meeting for Italian banks regarding competition, innovations and corporate social responsibility. Sponsors of the meeting include ACRI, ANCI, the Ministry of the Economic Development and the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy. Eighteen banks participated in the meeting by presenting 50 projects.

UniCredit’s communications regarding sustainable banking practices and goals, especially the Sustainability Report, were highly received by the award panel, which looked at transparency, clarity and the detail of information released, as well as how UniCredit worked to answer questions from stakeholders.

The annual award program through AIFIn seeks to bring attention to CSR in banking through highlighting bank initiatives to create value for the areas they serve.
