Business leaders, government officials, economists and experts in education from around the world met in the Ukraine during the Kyiv International Economic Forum 2014 on Thursday.
Hosted by the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council, the forum's focus was on reforming the Ukraine's economic policy. It included discussion on options to spur economic growth and the creation of a team of professionals and officials with the unified goal of enhancing the country's reformation strategy.
Among the scheduled speakers were Dmitry Shymkiv, the head of the presidential administration of Ukraine; Serhiy Kvit, the minister of education and science; Oleskandr Shlapak, minister of finance; Grzegorz W. Kolodko, the deputy prime minister and minister of finance for Poland; Juhan Parts, the former prime minister of Estonia; Erik S. Reinert, a professor at Tallinn University of Technology in Estonia; and Chuah Teong Ban, the ambassador of Malaysia to the Ukraine.
