Belarus, Moldova discuss banking collaboration

The heads of the national banks of Belarus and Moldova discussed cooperation between the two financial institutions during the 32nd gathering of the Club of Governers for the central banks in Central Asia, Black Sea and Balkan countries on Friday. 

During their meeting in Chisinau, Moldova, Nadezhda Yermakova, the chairwoman of the board for the National Bank of Belarus, and Dorin Dragutanu, the president of the National Bank of Moldova, discussed how the national banks could collaborate.

At the separate club meeting, Yermakova discussed the economic situation in Belarus, the implementation of the monetary policy and the state of the banking sector. Discussions were also held on the advantages of inflation targeting for the economy, issues related to the development of a policy, the role of the floating exchange rate for curbing domestic and foreign economic shocks and instruments of macro-prudential surveillance to secure financial stability.

The meeting was attended by 24 central bank governors.
