Polytechnik expands commitment to Belarusian infrastructure projects

Polytechnik of Austria will expand its participation in modernization projects for the Belarus energy sector, including investments in energy installations, the Belarus Embassy in Austria said on Tuesday.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Austria Valery Voronetsky met with Polytechnik CEO Leo Schirnhofer this week in Lower Austria. The company already has established a presence in Belarus with its construction cogeneration plants over the past 10 years. After meeting and discussing issues, an agreement was made between the ambassador and the CEO to deepen the commitment.

Voronetsky also met with Erwin Proll, head of the Lower Austria administration, to discuss the expansion of trade and economic partnerships between the two nations, with special attention paid to educational, tourism and cultural ties. The officials also discussed the upcoming tri-country forum between Russia that will take place in Minsk in October.

The ambassador is also set to meet with members of the Economic Chamber of Lower Austria to discuss trade and investment possibilities that exist between Belarus and Austria.

Also on the table are reciprocal visits to Belarus.
