AtaBank adds more non-cash pay terminals

AtaBank recently implemented 132 new point-of-sale terminals in Azerbaijan to help clients make purchases efficiently with bank cards and other non-cash payment methods.

The terminals support traditional credit and debit cards, but clients also will be able to utilize contactless cards using Visa's Paywave system.

This will allow transactions to be made in a quicker manner, and overall the system is more secure and more reliable.

AtaBank said that approximately 26,000 cards have been issued since it partnered with Visa International in 2004. The bank has 80 ATMs in Azerbaijan and more than 18,000 point-of-sale terminals.

Earlier this month, AtaBank announced new security for cards issued by them that would prevent anyone but the original cardholder from making purchases on the Internet. The 3D Secure program adds an additional layer of protection, and consumers would need this password alongside other card information in order to finalize a purchase.
