The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will take over the hosting of the Secretariat of the Deauville Partnership IFI Coordination Platform from the Islamic Development Bank for the year 2014.
Hosting responsibilities for the Deauville Partnership rotate with the G8 chairmanship. The EBRD will work with Russia, the 2014 G8 chairman.
Major IFI's active in the Middle East and North Africa region are united under the IFI Coordination Platform. These include the African Development Bank, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the International Monetary Fund and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, among others.
The Deauville Partnership with Arab countries in transition was created in May 2011 at the G8 Summit in France to support democratic transition, transparent governance and inclusive growth in Arab countries. Under the Deauville Partnership, the MENA Transition Fund was launched, which supports reform-oriented projects geared toward promoting improved governance, sustainable growth and employment for women and youth.
