Privat Bank conducts study on consumer purchases by installment

A new infographic released by Privat Bank shows that Ukrainian citizens make most of their installment purchases on computers, smartphones and tablets.

The bank analyzed data from multiple retail outlets in Ukraine in creating the infographic.

The results show that since the beginning of the year more than 17 percent of installment payments have gone toward the purchase of computer equipment. Approximately 16 percent went to the purchase of smartphones and tablets. Third, at 11 percent, is the purchase of laptops. Television purchases came in at only 4.6 percent.

Most major Ukrainian chains sell such things as home appliances, mobile phones, clothing and shoes in installments. Credit is issued at the register and a bill is later sent to the customer with all of the necessary details.
