Belarus, France seek enhanced transport, environmental cooperation

Belarus and France are planning to increase cooperative efforts in transportation and environmental protection fields, Belarus' ambassador to France announced Tuesday.

Pavel Latushko met with Herve Boisguillaume, France's assistant director for international affairs in the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing.

“Special attention was drawn to the results and implementation of agreements reached during the session of the joint Belarus-France commission for economic cooperation in transport, energy sector and environmental protection," the Belarus embassy said. "Pavel Latushko and Herve Boisguillaume discussed the approaches of the sides to the signing of interagency agreements in transport and environmental protection.”

During their meeting, the diplomats agreed that both countries would be represented and participate in the other's transportation exhibitions and conferences during 2015. Meetings between agencies of both governments that have stake in environmental and transportation policy will be held in the future to further discuss the detailed nature of the Belarusian–French cooperation.
