EIB, Armenia discuss cooperation

Armenian Prime Minister, Hovik Abrahamyan

Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Wilhelm Moltererin met to discuss cooperation between the international financial institution and the country Monday.

Both parties discussed ties between Armenia and the European Union (EU), and Abrahamyan expressed the importance of this relationship and its growth. Also in attendance was the head of the EU delegation, Traian Hristrea. The prime minister also noted the beneficial nature of current support measures provided by the EIB in the form of financial support for small and medium-sized businesses as well as the energy and transport sectors.

Moltererin expressed the institution's willingness to continue funding support. He also said the bank agrees with the government that these areas along with tourism and agriculture are the bank's priorities.

The officials also discussed further issues of implementation of joint projects.
