Su-yong indicates North Korean interest in Belarus exports

Andrei Kobyakov, the Belarusian prime minister, announced on Wednesday that during a meeting with North Korea's foreign minister, Ri Su-yong expressed interest in Belarusian exports, particularly in the lighting and manufacturing industry. 


The delegation from North Korea visited numerous industrial sites and companies within the country to determine trade potential. 


“As far as I know, you have outlined the following priority areas of cooperation: supplies of agricultural and automobile equipment to North Korea and the opening of assembly plants for this equipment there, supplies of products of the light industry, intensification of the work of the intergovernmental commission, cooperation in the agricultural sector,” Kobyakov said.


He announced that Belarus was seeking positive relations with strategic partners, which can provide mutually beneficial economic potential. In North Korea, the head of state said that there is untapped potential. 


Kobyakov also stated that work would continue on a Belarus-North Korean intergovernmental commission for further cooperative opportunities.
