World Money Week launches in Kyrgyzstan

The National Bank of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan launched a World Money Week financial literacy initiative Tuesday to help improve financial knowledge among young people.

"In the framework of the week throughout Kyrgyzstan, including remote areas and villages, there will be interactive training sessions, seminars, round tables, excursions to financial institutions, and competitions for children and young people," head of the National Bank Tolkunbek Abdygulov said. "The main goal of the campaign is to develop within the young generation a culture of savings and to provide children and young people with knowledge so that in the future they can make informed financial decisions and build their wealth."

This is the first year that Kyrgyzstan has taken part in the global initiative. The bank will also hold seminars and provide online materials during World Money Week, an international initiative that spans over 100 countries.
