Azerbaijan to promote Belarus tractors to international community

Three agreements were signed Tuesday between Azerbaijan's Ganja Automobile Plant and Minsk Tractor Works and its parent, MTZ Holding Company, that will promote Belarus tractors to third-party nations.

This set of agreements would bolster cooperation between the two enterprises and expand both the manufacture and sale to nations outside of Azerbaijan and Belarus.

MTZ Director Fyodor Domotenko said Azerbaijan declared 2015 as a year of agriculture, and in that spirit the government is pursuing multiple policies and arrangements that will bolster food security. Both companies, and by extension both nations, would benefit from an increased presence of tractors and other agricultural vehicles in the international community.

The Ganja plant has been operational since 2004 and has a current annual output of 1,000 trucks and 2,000 tractors. In 2010, a three-party agreement between the two companies and Germany's Haller supplied German equipment in the production plants.
