Belarusbank was recognized for its contributions to the Belarusian Football Federation (BFF) during the Star Ball 2014 ceremony in December, the bank said on Friday.
The ceremony recognizes excellence in the sport at the end of the season. The bank was honored with a plaque, presented by BFF Chairman Sergey Rumas as a sign of gratitude for the bank's partnership.
The partnership began in December 2013, and since then, the bank has functioned as a general partner, with partial naming rights to the championship game, know currently as the "Belarusbank — Belarus Football Championship."
With the bank's support of the federation, the BFF was able to award cash prizes to the winning team and certificates for teams that placed high in the tournament.
The BFF is the governing body of the sport; it organizes and manages the country's Premier League and the national teams for men and women.
