UkrSibbank's Silver Coin project collected $18,930 to support children and families affected by Down syndrome, the bank said Thursday.
With this financial support, the UkrSibbank Charitable Organization Down Syndrome was able to hold seminars for parents of children with the condition, where specialists spoke about living with and managing Down syndrome. They were able to complete consultations to families in person and online, and gave initial consultations to new families and formed parental therapeutic groups.
The organization was able to participate in the sixth Congress of Neonatologists to aid in the development of clinical protocols in caring for individuals with Down syndrome.
"For more than five years of existence for the Silver Coin (project), we managed to collect (money) for children and their parents, thus changing the quality of life of these people. Most importantly, our achievements (have allowed) a change in attitudes toward children with Down syndrome," UkrSibbank BNP Paribas Group Deputy Chairman of Retail Business Konstantin Lezhnin said.
