A recent report by the National Bank of Tajikistan said the exchange rates between the U.S. dollar and the Tajikistan somoni have increased.
The exchange bureaus in the country have made between $10,855 and $10,882 in profits. The bank also said exchange rates between the local currency and the Russian ruble and euro have decreased within the foreign exchange markets, earning $173 to $177 from ruble exchanges and $12,722 to $12,765 on euro exchanges.
Specific bureaus earned varying amounts from exchange rates of the dollar, reaching $10,960 to $10,999 in Dushanbe; $11032 to $11,071 in Khujand and $11,013 to $11,052 in Kurgan.
Earlier in 2014, the bank recorded record amounts of deposits from its citizens and legal entities within the country. At the end of August, deposits within credit institutions were up 16.9 percent over that point in time in the previous year. Growth in this and other forms of deposits has strengthened the Tajikistan economy.
