Uzbeki president welcomes four new ambassadors from abroad

Newly appointed ambassadors to Uzbekistan from Egypt, Indonesia, India and Vietnam presented their credentials to Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov on Wednesday.

Among the new diplomats were Ghada al Ghannam from the Arab Republic of Egypt, Alit Santika from the Republic of Indonesia, Vikram Doraiswami from the Republic of India and Fam Wang Fao from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Karimov congratulated the newly appointed diplomats and urged the increasing importance of generating and strengthening ties between the five nations. He said these countries in particular have been playing an increasingly important role in a number of issues facing Uzbekistan and the region as a whole.

Each ambassador considers the possibilities and opportunities ahead to be a priority.

In conversations with all of the newly appointed diplomats, economic and trade relations were among their highest priorities.
