Croatian prime minister meets with Turkmenistan president

Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic met with Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Friday to discuss opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

The two leaders discussed the status of cooperative efforts between the two countries and ways that they could facilitate increased collaboration. They also identified areas that would be especially beneficial to both nations.

The two leaders said they saw potential in cooperation in infrastructure development, energy, communication and transport. Both leaders also agreed that cooperation in education and cultural fields would be important.

Berdimuhamedov said he was interested in gaining Croatian contacts in the country's tourism development sector. Berdimuhamedov said that Turkmenistan is looking to expand their tourism industry at an ambitious rate.

Milanovic said his country was willing to cooperate in most industries, especially ones that would utilize expertise in technology.

"We believe that Turkmenistan has a great future and tremendous growth prospects," Milanovic said during his official visit to Turkmenistan.
